The wierdest thing happened a few days ago! Let me tell you. First I went with Mummy and she bought me a big bunch of big colorful floating balls on strings. I loved them and had fun playing peek-a-boo with them in the store. Then Nate and Tess came to our house with their Mommy and Daddy, and Aunty Donna and Uncle Cary came too. Then Nate and I saw this big pile of parcels and wanted to open them (he seemed to know something), so Nate, Mommy and I took turns finding out what was in them. And guess what it was?? TOYS!!!! I already had lots of new clothes from Grandma, Nana and Aunty Debbie but this was great. I got some new books, and blocks, and a jigsaw puzzle, and a tea party play house, and a dolly that sucks her thumb like me.. oh and a kitchen with pots and pans. So we played for a little bit and then Daddy puts me in my high chair and Mummy brought out this big CAKE! I was going to eat the whole thing but Daddy wouldn't let me but I did have a big piece all to myself. Purple icing is so much better than oatmeal - wonder if Daddy will let me have cake more often.

Da suggested I update my blog about once per month over the next year and I should probably archive much of this current stuff on CD and start with a new look. So expect fewer updates and a whole new look in the near future. Now maybe Da can get his blog going again.:)

I have been having so much fun these past few weeks. I went to the zoo with my friends Nate and Tess and met a very friendly orangatang. This was the same week that we went to Mexico to get away from the bad smoke caused by some horrible fire, Dada even took me to Calexico for a few days. It was during this time that I figured out how to use the phone - now I am a real pro. We bought pumpkins at the pumpkin patch then Dada and I gave the pumpkins funny faces. Then for some strange reason Mum put this furry suit on me and we gave candy to hundreds of kids who came to our house. This was the same night that I fugured out how to get from our house to Nate and Tess's house. Ain't no stoppin' me now!

After England we went on a holiday to Tunisia with Grandma and Grandad. We stayed in a big hotel with a pool and friendly waiters. Everyone wanted to kiss me in this country - I think it must be lucky to kiss a cute baby. I had a lot of fun on the beach and always found friends to play with. We did go to see some very cool and very old places, mostly built by a man called "Roman". And I took Mum and Dada shopping and helped them get some good bargains. See how useful I am. Grandma and Grandad played with me all of the time and helped me practice my walking. I think they liked to show me off. Good for them that I'm not shy!

Can you believe that Mum and Dada went away without me!! They went to Oxford to stay in Mum's old college. I guess they looked at lots of old buildings and went to some places called "pubs". Sounds boring to me. I stayed with Grandma and Grandad and spent the day with Aunty Jenny at her nursery. I know they were thinking of me though - why else would they take a picture of a street sign - "Magpie Lane"!!

Mum and Dada finally took me to England. I got to meet my Great Grandma (Nin) and Grandad, my Aunts and Uncles, Cousins and lots of friends. Of course Grandma and Grandad have already met me but I could tell that they wre impressed by how much I have grown and all the new things I can do - like walking. Grandad taught me how to say "no no" and Grandma sang lots of silly songs. Everyone was so pleased to see me that they had a party! I even got to play with some little people, my cousin Rebecca, Lois (who gave me lots of nice dresses) and Sophie, Jason and Emily. I had so much fun that I am going to want to come back soon.

Nate and I celebrated his 2nd birthday while everyone looked on. Nate and I are very different children in that he is a boy and I am a girl but I definately dig him.

Da says that I am in transition. I am not clear on what he means but I think it has something to do with my changing sleeping and walking habits. Mum is my main concern these days.

I have friends that come over often to help around the house and play with me. They live in the home attached to our back-yard. Dad says they can be nice to have around but he sometimes wonders if he is looking after 3 children instead of just one!?

Dadas friend, Barn, has gone back home - I will miss his playing time - a lot!

I took my first steps a few days ago. Dada thought it was pretty cool and called everyone in the house to watch and congratulate me. I am still not sure I prefer walking over crawling since I have become pretty darn good at the latter. The other day I even climbed all the way to the top of the stairs in search of Mum.

People tell me I am quickly growing up.

Dada's friend, Barn, is visiting from Bella Coola. I am not sure where that is but it sounds very far away. I guess they have a lot of fish up there because he brought salmon jerky with him and Mum lets me chew on some (its good).

We all went to Mexico the other day and that was fun - although I did get tired of listening to them talk so much so I napped most of the time during the driving.

Mum and Dada take me to the park up the street more often now that I have shown how much I like climbing and playing with the other kids there.

I was in to see the baby-doctor today. I think it is unfair that Muma and Dada got lunch at Carls Junior and all I got was a lousy needle! But it seems, after all measurements taken, I am average for height, and a little on the light side of the average. One thing is for sure - I can eat dirt by the fist-fulls - just take me to a beach and you know what I mean. Muma and Dada have to constantly "unhand the dirt".

I am a bit more mobile these days as Dada has helped me perfect the "walker". I have put these new skills to use with Muma in the bathroom recently.

Dada says I have perfected mumbling and have a new, Churchill, expression. Muma thinks I am just gumming around.

Wow! What an adventure. Muma and Dada have placed a long fence around the living room and have blocked off at least one door-way with a small fence. But I still get around every chance I get. Even within the fenced areas I have plenty to explore.

I particularly enjoy tossing books, from shelves, over my shoulder and emptying drawers full of clothes. But I can get bored quickly - even in a large fenced in area so Muma and Dada take me out to the yard to explore. I love crawling around on the grass and trying to eat fist-fulls of dirt (Muma and Dada seem to catch me at this most of the time).

Dada is getting a steady flow of yummy little red balls and many other tasty things. So I helped pick some the other day.

I am getting pretty good at stepping along with the baby walker and I am able to stand solo for a moment or two. These things make Muma and Dada pretty happy.

We went to a drive-in again last night - "Pirates of the Caribean". This is the second time we did this and both were quite a success. Although I started squeeling so Muma and Dada decided to rollup the windows at one point. This just fogged the windows and you can imagine what others around us thought about that.

I need more friends! I am telling Dada that hanging around in the living room, with the occasional walk, is not good enough. I want kids to play with. Mum took me to the beach the other day and I had a lot of fun. I helped some kids build sand castles and others to embed their boogie-boards into the sand. I even got into the water. Mum thinks it is my favourite place to be - and it just may be. I also like the hallway upstairs and the way my squeel is accentuated. Dada is pretty sure that I am singing happy songs to everyone.

I definately have a new friend next-door where a new baby girl has arrived - Tess!

I have not gained much weight nor height but Mum and Da know I have been developing quickly in all other ways. I am either 100% on or 100% off - not much in between. I get fussy when noone is paying attention to me or when I am getting tired. I wake up early every morning (between 4 and 6 am) and start screaming from my crib. This always gets Mum to bring me into bed with them. He He. I then jump up and down on Mum or Dads head, kick them in the back, pull their hair, threaten to "jump to my death", squeel at the morning sunshine and generally convince them its a good idea to play with me. Da sometimes takes me downstairs to play and watch the Tour De France.

Mum tries to feed me baby mushy food sometimes but I think my training is starting to work as she is feeding me more adult-like food now. My two top teeth are just showing beneath the gums now and should be here soon to help me chew better.

Mum, Da can we do this again soon (pleeze). My Da had already told me about the cottage but he never mentioned the s'mores. I really liked hanging out with Papa and Nana and playing in the tent with Leanne and Derrick. I tell you - this is the life.

Da just couldn't wait to show me and Mum Toronto. We visited Uncle Chris and Gerry and friends (Hi Patrick, Laurie and Paul). Laurie looked after me so Mum and Da could have a night on the town. Can you believe they wanted time alone - humphf. We spent a crazy day seeing some of Dad's favorite places and we went to the top of the CNN tower. And no I'm not afraid of heights!

I finally made it to Canada and got to meet my Dad's family. Of course I'd already met Nana and Aunty Julie but this time I got to see the rest of the clan. I had great fun with my two cousins, Derrick and Leanne and I think I surprised them with how smart and funny I am. Then on Sunday my Mum dressed me up in this big poofy white dress (I thought I looked like a meringue but everyone seemed to think I looked cute), and then we went to a lovely church and a nice man, Reverand Roland, poured water on my head. I thought that was pretty funny. Afterwards we had a party and Mrs. Green and Aunty Lynne and Cousin Michelle came by.

I do not like formula that much and I really do not like baby mush-in-a-jar. But I do like biter biscuits and baby toast. I did go to see the Dr. and I haven't put on a lot of weight - I'm not even 15lbs but the Dr. says I look just great - guess I need to eat some more biscuits.

Da was sick all week but we all managed to go to my first concert this week - the "English Beat". I also had the chance to chew on a t-bone steak - yum-yum. We also visited next door and I was able to hang out with Nate.

My second tooth has shown up! Both my teeth are on the bottom front of my mouth.

Mum, Dad, and I are going to visit my doctor tomorrow so the next entry here should have some interesting, growth, information.
