HUV
The HUV is back from the shop. A few people expressed an interest in buying it so they will get a chance to buy it before I make it look nicer… and then sell at a higher price.

Mavis
Got Mavis out for a walk in the woods at 8:30am and again at noon. She has doubled her size since she arrived and is constantly improving her ability to run around the fallen trees etc in the woods.

Girls
Maggie got herself to/from school. She made some ginger bread cookies. Molly missed her bus this morning. I can not remember this ever happening to Molly before. I gather she was delayed by a frantic search for her phone. She called me while I was at the other end of the forest with Mavis. I returned to drive her to school.

I am concerned that Molly thinks that we have no cultural heritage. I was surprised by this. It seems that; Irish, Scottish, English and German is, in the Canadian context, no heritage? Not sure where she gets that from but it is not from home. Makes me wonder – are we being erased? If so – is it because we simply do not care enough to matter? Alternatively we are being morphed into something else. Not sure how I feel about that.
Valerie has really taken working all-of-the-time to a whole new level. We cooked up two salmon that we had pulled from the long-term-storage freezer. They cooked up ok but I think they are Springs and did not taste great. Valerie removed and bagged the meat. Mavis is going to enjoy a bit of salmon with her meals for the next week or so.

Coding
I spent the morning and some of the afternoon on Merva – coding. I spent some time watching Netflix (‘Halt And Catch Fire‘) in the evening. This is a period flashback roughly following a bit of worthy history – like the ‘The Queens Gambit‘. I really like both. ‘The Queens Gambit’ is a miniseries and I like this format. ‘Halt And Catch Fire’ is a proper series with 40 episodes. I hope it holds up well over the full series – will see.

I think most of the cultures are very slowly blending & I think that’s a good thing
Yes; I am ok with ‘blending’ but what if specific cultures are valued less than others (taken for granted to the point of being meaningless)?
