I was out at the Farm with survey crew. The survey seems to be sorted out – and a few fallen trees have been measured so the Province can approve their removal.
I returned to find Mavis at home alone (Valerie was in town getting Molly to work). I took her out for a walk in the forest. For the second time in a week she was attacked by another dog. No harm in both cases due to timely intervention. In both cases there were two dogs being walked and went off in Mavis. The first time it was two very large dogs with only one really showing signs of aggression. In the second case it was a case of a small one (about the size of Mavis) winding up a larger dog (about 2x the size of Mavis).
The good news is that Mavis remembers these dogs and now knows that not all dogs are friendly. Even still – surprise encounters can happen. So I will be extra diligent. I will try to avoid certain times of the day when these dogs seemed to get walked and I will be on alert. However; I am not going to keep her, the non-aggressive dog, on leash in the forest. Lets hope nothing bad comes of this. It should matter much less in a few months when she has become larger.
