Valerie and Molly are in Victoria for a few days visiting friends. Maggie could not go because of work and I decided to catch up on projects instead – once I heard Maggie was not going.
Maggie was accepted to University housing but the more expensive solo-housing and mandatory food program. We wanted to avoid the food program because Maggie eats so little. Even still – she is lucky to get in there because there are many students being turned away this year due to greater demand (COVID related) a less supply (old buildings torn down to be replaced).
The electricians have been at Deerhorn for the last two days. They have been installing fixtures including making the smoke alarms upstairs to code (integrating to downstairs).
I re-stained the deck railing and did other bits.
Catching up on landscaping – no small amount of work.
New tenant moving in the upper unit on August 1st and hoping to have the lower unit ready for October 1st. Essentially all monthly profit (upper and lower) will go to the University of Victoria (Maggie) for the foreseeable future.
Mavis is in her first ‘heat’ – also Valerie and Molly are away. So it seems like a good time to get Mavis on a more structured walk schedule and end the free-ranging in the back yard. In other words – time to reclaim the backyard.
