I spent some time getting the Defender back into usable condition. Cleaned out the cooler box and dried out the tent (it was packed up wet). I also returned the storage boxes to the roof. The drivers door needed adjusting so it could close. I ordered a bunch of bits from the UK and now I am getting hammered with additional shipping and duties.
Its a good thing that the Defender is back to usable condition – even if I am still waiting for the parts. Someone drove the Jag up against a curb or something similar (last week). This scraped up the rim but also took some rubber from the side walls. The tire went flat in Sechelt today. I put the spare on and went to KAL-TIRE to organize a solution. The front tires are less than 50% even though they have only 21k on them. I guess it was time for a tire rotation but instead we are going to put on two new front tires – which will cost 1k – without fixing rims. I have a call into the dealership to see what is covered as we took out max warranty for this car.
Maggie has been packing for leaving house to UVic. I think she is pleased that we are now taking the Defender to Victoria this weekend as there will be more space for her to pack stuff.
Molly has her last iPhone on the way. She has to buy her phones from now on. She is also deep into plans for taking over Maggies bedroom. Molly got her hair done today.
I am very upset at Ikea. We chose to use Ikea to make things easy but it has not been what we expected. For example; I have just received an email that I have to pick up the remaining cabinet (back ordered) in the next 4 days or lose it. I will spend more money getting this cabinet than it is worth. There are other examples as well. So I am off to Vancouver tomorrow (it will be a whole day thing) to pick up a $150 box that ‘could not be included’ with the shipment we received the other day.
I guess we will not find time to use the travel trailer after all. I will pack it up again.
There has been way too much drama in the house recently. I am pretty ok with lots of moving pieces but its been over the top. Maggie off to UVic, Molly back to school, boy friend, girl friends, reno, Farm, and new boat. Not to mention Valerie and her work stuff. Its a lot. I am putting the brakes on where I can.
